App Portal Logs Reference

App Portal logs activities in several locations. There are log files for activities on the App Portal website, for the App Portal web service, and for the App Portal Windows service. There are also log files created for each App Portal request submitted and for each App Portal user.

App Portal Website and Web Service Activity Log Files

The following log files, which are found in the Logs subdirectory of the App Portal installation directory, record activity related to the App Portal website and web service.

ActiveDirectory_Error.logThis log file is updated if App Portal encounters any Active Directory-related exceptions such as an LDAP connection failure or if a user is not able to read from Active Directory.
ActiveDirectory.jogLists details about Active Directory-related information.
WorkspaceONEUEM_Error.logLists any errors that occur during mobile app deployment on Workspace ONE UEM.
WorkspaceONEUEMDeployment.logLists Workspace ONE UEM deployment information for Android, iOS, and Windows applications.
WorkspaceONEUEMIntegration.logLists integration details as well as the connection failure exception.
CodeTimer_CreateRequest.logLists Information on the execution process, including the amount of time each request took to complete.
CollectionClean.logTracks the activity of the collection cleaning process.
CollectionInsert.logHandles the collection insert requests. The database is queried for new insert requests, and the service will contact the primary site server via the App Portal Web Service. The corresponding log file on the primary site server is the ESDWebService.log file.
DatabaseCalls_Error.logLists all of the information related to database connection errors.
DataSync.logLists all of the information related to user and computer syncing.
DataSyncException.logLists all of the errors or exceptions that occur during data sync.
EmailServices.logHandles all the email notification processes for App Portal.
ESDService.logTracks general settings and actions for the App Portal Service.
ESDWebService.logThis log file is present only on servers with the App Portal Web Service. It tracks the actual insertion process of a machine into a collection.
FNMSIntegration.logLists the entire integration detail with FlexNet Manager Suite.
Integration.logProvides all the information on third-party integration with App Portal (FlexNet Manager Platform, Workflow Manager, Microsoft System Center Orchestrator).
InventoryUpdate.logTracks the updating of inventory data from your deployment system.
ITSMSystemStatusCheck.logLists the status and the progress on each ITSM ticket in ServiceNow and Remedy; updates the same in App Portal.
LicenseReclamation.logLists the processing of lease end and license reclamation activities.
MobileStatusUpdate.logTracks the status of requests processed in Workspace ONE UEM after requests are placed from App Portal; also updates each status back to App Portal.
MyApps_Exceptions.logLists any exceptions that occur regarding My Apps alert generation, as well as during My Apps processing. It also includes exceptions that occur related to upgrade/retirement campaigns.
MyApps_ProcessAlerts.logThis log file contains all the details on My Apps processing, as well as the detail on the processed alerts for entire machine. It also includes details regarding upgrade/retirement campaigns.
MyApps\(MachineName).logIncludes details relating to upgrade/retire campaigns such as matching alerts found for a particular machine, number of apps found, and creating alerts.
RerunAdvertisement.logTracks the task of rerunning advertisements on the client.
RunPolicy.logTracks the task of running the machine policy on the client.
StatusUpdate.logTracks the status of requests processed in System Center Configuration Manager after requests are placed from App Portal; also updates each status back to App Portal.
WebAPIException.logLists any exceptions that occur during a web API run.
WebSite.logLists general settings and actions for the App Portal website. Startup errors or unhandled exceptions are logged in this file.
WebsiteMVC.logLists the error logs related to the Browse Catalog and Checkout pages of App Portal.

App Portal Requests Log Files

If enabled, request-level information for each request is recorded in a separate log file. These log files are found in the Logs\RequestLog subdirectory of the App Portal installation directory, and are named using the request number, such as 1.log, 2.log, etc.

To enable request-level logging, open the Settings > Web Site > General tab under Site Management and select the Enable request life cycle logging option.

App Portal Users Log Files

User session data and error messages for each App Portal user and group is recorded in a separate log file. These log files are found in the Logs\UserLog subdirectory of the App Portal installation directory, and are uniquely named with the user or group name.
